National Guard Landfill Monitoring
Star Resources Corp. is currently completing environmental compliance services for the California Army National Guard (CA ARNG). STAR has the capabilities to perform field work such as landfill gas monitoring and groundwater sampling and manages all aspects of the CA ARNG projects. STAR acquires permits, completes regulatory reporting, and manages waste for each project to ensure the California Army National Guard remains in compliance.
Currently, STAR is completing landfill gas monitoring and groundwater sampling at the Camp Roberts’ Landfills and landfill gas monitoring at Sutter Avenue Landfill at Camp San Luis Obispo to ensure compliance with the Regional Water Quality Control Board and CalRecycle.
STAR also completes monthly landfill gas monitoring at the closed Old Elvas Landfill in Sacramento. Gas samples are analyzed monthly for methane, carbon dioxide, and oxygen by a field gas monitor. Monthly reports stating sampling results are submitted to the CA ARNG and local enforcement agency.
STAR is performing quarterly and semiannual groundwater sampling at two adjacent CA ARNG sites in Stockton. Groundwater contamination is being addressed as a result of leaking underground storage tanks (USTs). STAR is analyzing for petroleum hydrocarbons at both sites and monitoring the natural attenuation at one site.
